The twins turned 5 at Hershey Park!

Our first real (hotel-version) family vacation! We booked Hershey Park a few months ago after deciding that we were not going to have a birthday party for the twins this year. The twins agreed and have been very excited! They were counting down for three weeks. Well, the day finally came. We left here about 9 am and headed for Hershey. We stopped and got soft pretzels on the way (like we do for every long ride). The kids watched a Tangled on the way up and Madison asked every five minutes if we were at Hershey Park yet. About two and half hours later, we arrived!

We went right to Chocolate World. We parked and went in. We were all so excited to be at Hershey Park and to finally stretch our legs.

We started with the tour that lead us to the free chocolate and the gift shop. Luckily for us, Uncle Billy and Aunt Cari gave the twins gift cards for their birthday. They picked out a gift for Grammy and Pop and Poppy and Mom~mom. Then they picked out a present for each of them. Madison picked out a cute stuffed cow that says Hershey on it and Daniel picked out a truck that said Hershey. They were so excited. Next, we went and purchased tickets for the make your own chocolate bar and the 3D show. The 3D show was great! The kids loved wearing the 3D glasses. They loved being splashed with water during the show too!

After the show, we headed to the factory to make our own bars. The kids loved wearing the hairnets and the aprons. They loved choosing their own ingredients for their own bars. They loved making the labels. The whole experience was AWESOME!

My three little chocolate makers!

The cutest little family of bakers!

Daniel's chocolate bar in production. He selected pretzels and no sprinkles on top. Mr. Plain Jane just like mommy!

Madison's bar in production. She selected sprinkles inside and sprinkles out side! Miss Colorful!

Brayden's bar in production. He selected cookie dough and sprinkles with sprinkles on top!

Mom & Dad's bar in production. Daddy selected all the ingredients. I think he picked cookie dough, almonds, and pretzels.
I kinda forget and there's no way mommy is going to bit into a bar like that!

After the making of the chocolate bar, we had a little bit of time since the printer went down in the factory so we had to wait 20 minutes to get our bars. So, we went over to the food court and ate pizza. Surprisingly, Brayden had held his pee all day and went to the potty. I was so proud of him, but he's so inconsistent. After our tummies were filled we went to get our bars and headed to the Hershey Lodge where we were going to be staying for 3 days!

We checked into the hotel around 4 pm. The kids were so excited to check in at the kid's check in desk while mommy took care of the adult check in. The lodge was GORGEOUS! The room was a standard room with two queen sized beds. We stayed in the room and freshened up for dinner. We decided to go to a restaurant called the Chocolate Avenue Grill. It was delicious.

The boys at the grill playing wiki sticks!

At dinner, we thought it would be a great idea to play miniature golf (which was free at the lodge).  Boy were we mistaken! Daniel had a hard time understanding the rules of the game. He wanted to be first at every hole. Madison wanted to play by the rules and had trouble with the boys who didn't follow the rules. Then there was Brayden who honestly had no clue what he was doing, but had a blast doing it. It was very frustrating for Dan and I, but if you look at the pictures it looks like we had a great time!

Madison trying hard to hit the ball correctly.

Looks like a great shot of them playing nicely, WRONG! They were arguing. Madison was yelling at Bray to get off the course.

Daniel and Daddy ahead of us the whole time.

Brayden did get a hole in one! Of course, I helped.

Daddy was so frustrated at this point, I think Madison was in time out for hitting Brayden with the golf club. Daniel wasn't listening.

After golfing, we went back to our room and tried to relax. The kids finally fell asleep around 11. I had to stay up to write my application assignment for my master's class. So I stayed up until 2am. We had plans to go to Hershey Park the next day. We needed to have breakfast and be outside for the shuttle by 830am. So we were up by 7am to start our day. I got up first and got ready and let everyone sleep for a little longer. When we were all ready we went downstairs in the lodge had breakfast in the restaurant and then went outside to wait for the shuttle. The park opens an hour early for their hotel guests, they call it the sweet start. We got into the park and immediately went on all the kiddie rides. The kids loved it! No lines and a whole lot of fun! We then headed to the back of the park where Madison got her face painted.

We rode numerous rides and went to the water park. The kids LOVED the wave pool! They had a blast at water park. It was nerve-racking because at one point we couldn't find them on the water slides. After that, Bray fell asleep in the stroller so we started heading out of the park and back to the shuttle. When we got back to the hotel, we decided to go swimming at the pool. We then got ready for dinner again, and headed to Houlihan's, but Danny and Madison cried to go to McDonald's instead while we tried to wait for a table so we left Houlihan's and headed for McDonald's. The kids were thrilled but Dan and I were a little disappointed. We got over it quickly and ate McDonald's and headed back for the park. The kids rode more rides and Dan was excited because at the Hershey Stadium right next to the park he could hear Poison playing in the park. We stayed until the park closed. I was very happy because I got my Hershey Christmas Ornament. Every trip we've ever gone on, we've picked up an ornament to represent it on the tree that year. The kids hopefully will appreciate it when they get older.

Brayden's first ride alone with no mommy or daddy. Madison did a great job riding with him.

All of them on the dinosaur ride. Brayden is sitting next to Madison.

The end of night two in Hershey, PA.

Our next day was check out. We needed to be out of the hotel by 11am. So we packed up and headed out to eat lunch. We decided to revisit the Houlihan's idea again. This time it went over much better than the night before. We ate lunch and at the end of lunch our waitress brought out two cakes with ice cream for the twins. It was their 5th birthday. We all sang and the twins blew out their candles. This made Madison extremely happy because she thought since we were away from home we wouldn't be able to celebrate. Even though we celebrated on Sunday before we went to Hershey. After Houlihan's, we had some time to kill before the Wiggle's Show. We ended up going to the Hershey outlets. The kids were not thrilled about that since there were no "kid stores" as they put it. We left the outlets and headed to the Wiggle's Show at the Hershey Theatre. The theatre was gorgeous. The Wiggles Show was fun, but you could tell they just wanted to go home especially Danny. He was homesick by this point. We were a little disappointed that Jeff was not in the show, but made the best of it. I had packed roses and dog bones for the show. So when the Wiggles came around to collect them at first Captain Feathersword skipped over us. So when Sam came around, I pushed Madison into the isle and he came right up to her and started talking to us. She LOVED it! Madison and Brayden gave them our gifts and he went back up on stage. It was a great show! Thanks Pop-pop and Grammy for the tickets, what a great birthday present!

After we left the show we headed home. Brayden fell asleep for most of the two hour ride. But, Daniel and Madison stayed up. We got about half way home when Daniel had to pee. So Dan showed him how to pee on the side of the highway. He was so proud of himself. LOL! Then about a half an hour away from home, Madison started to tell jokes. Well, they made no sense at all, but became a great time because we laughed our heads off. One of her jokes I remember well was "What did the catdog say to the mouse? I pooped!" The jokes went on like this for twenty minutes with Daniel and Dan and myself jumping in to say our versions too. It was such a fun ride home. Sadly, our trip had come to an end. So much preparation and anticipation for this trip and it went by so fast! Can't wait for our next adventure. I wonder what it's going to be next?
