Our Trip to the Shore House

Our first campfire at the shore. We went down the shore to the shore house on Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday was a very crazy day because we brought the rain down the shore with us. Dan seemed to be moving extremely slow and it almost felt like he didn't want to go. But, once we got moving he seemed to be more into the trip. We went on a few walks when we got to the shore, but really waited for Grammy and Pop-pop to meet us there. Once they arrived, Madison made Daddy and Pop-pop start a campfire. Grammy hooked them up with marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers. The kids first SMORES!!! Madison loved them. Daniel loved only the marshmallows. Brayden liked making the marshmallows and have Daddy eat them.

The next day was BEAUTIFUL!!! Aunt Lala came down and met up with us so we could head to the beach. Dan made stromboli before we went so we could have dinner when we got home. We got to the beach at Stone Harbor a little before noon. The kids LOVED the beach! They had a blast making sandcastles and going in the ocean. We got the above family picture by the lifeguard boat. It was so hard to get all the kids to look at the camera at once. We stayed at the beach for over four hours. The kids were amazingly so well behaved! They were so occupied with everything. I wish we owned a shore house on the beach so the kids could go everyday! That would be amazing!

The next day we went to Owen's for lunch and then the boardwalk for rides, games and ice cream. After we left the boards we stop at Aunt Jack's and Donna Jean's to visit before heading back the shore house. That night the kids took forever to go to bed. Dan and I were so frustrated at this point! They don't sleep well on vacation even though we seem to tire them out completely!

The next day we went to the pool for a little and then Grammy and Pop told us to go out for a little alone. Well, we didn't hesitate and JUMPED at the chance to get away for a few hours. Dan and I headed to our favorite spot at the shore...Harpoon Henry's in Cape May. We've been going there every summer for the past 4 years! We love the atmosphere there and the food is good especially the onion rings!
