Halloween

What a GREAT time we had...

I was so fortunate to be able to take a personal day. My school celebrated on Friday the 28th which gave me the chance to take off for the twins' parade and party. We woke up and got ready for the morning. But because Madison needed to bring in juice boxes and her tutu to school so I decided it would be easier to just drive them in. So at 7:45 am we were off. When I got home Dan and I took Brayden out for the morning. We went to Target and JCPenny and then headed to pick up Grammy. We were saddened that Pop-pop was going to be in the hospital for Halloween. He has pneumonia and wasn't able to be there for all the activities. We then headed to the parade at the school. We arrived at 12:30 and were lined up with all the other parents ready to take pictures of our little ones. My mom met us there at the parade, yeah! We were happy to have her join us since this was the first time she was able to make it. We were so excited to see them stroll by. Madison went by first. She was dressed as a black cat and was so excited to wave to us when she walked by!

Then after a few minutes, Daniel finally came by. He tried to hide from us, but his teacher (fortunately) made sure he stopped and wave to us. This is his third parade you would think he would be okay strolling around the playground. He's still extremely shy, but did much better than the previous years. Daniel wanted to be Tow Mater this year from Cars. His outfit was simple. We LOVED that he tilted his hat to side to go with his outfit. He such a silly butt!

Brayden watched the kids from the sidelines dressed as Buzz. He was so proud of his outfit and kept touch the button on the sleeve like Buzz does in the movie. On the sidelines, we met a little boy that was also two years old that was dressed as Woody. The two boys really hit it off. It was precious.

After the parade, we went into the classrooms and joined the parties. We spent most of the time in Madison's room. We got to meet some of the kids in their classes. Daniel was sitting next to Josh (Lisa's friend's little boy). In Madison's class there's a set of twin boys so I asked he to point them out to me. So she points to them and then runs over to them and says "which one of you two is the fun one?" It was hilarious!! She has such an attitude!

After the parties were done, we headed to our house to take a short break. Then we headed over to Billy Bear's parade at Chesterbrook. We got there just in time, and saw him walking around. Billy was dressed up as Lightening McQueen from cars and looked absolutely adorable. After the parade, we went in to take pictures and then headed back to our house.

We stopped on the way home and picked up pizza at Sal's. We all ate quickly and then headed out to trick or treat. Lisa stopped over and manned the door for us so we could head out. We stopped at the "scary" house and the twins had reservations about going up, but since we know the owners from the bus stop they seemed ok. After we went up and talked for a minute or two, Madison asked to go up again. Daniel was asking for Kit Kats at every house. He even had one guy go in and look for Kit Kats in the house. We finally told him to say thank you and we would make a switch when we got home. After our first trip around the block, we came back home and visited with my Dad and Great Grammy who came over to see the kids. Then Dan took the kids out for another walk and I stayed here to hand out candy and then lastly, I went out and Dan stayed here. Brayden loved handing out the candy to the kids. I really think that was his favorite part. We finally came in for the night and got settled down around 8 pm. We watched a little Scared Shrekless and then headed to bed. Madison and Daniel were asleep in no time, but Brayden stayed up to torture mommy. LOL!

PS. Madison won cutest costume at her school. It was a school wide contest and I'm so excited for her (and of course, proud of me since I made the costume)!
